Our Suites are named after families that left a tremendous legacy for us. The suites remind us of the homes and the hospitality that each family offered.
The Beckman Suite
The Beckman Suite was named in honor of Christian "Chris" and Lena Beckman. They did not have any children, but they had a very large home. Their home had a large dining area and plenty of space for guests and farmhands to stay.
Chris was a hardworking farmer. Lena was a "fancy" farm wife. They had a beautiful home filled with beautiful details. They also had a beautiful landscaped yard. In 2012 we moved into the Beckman Estate and restored it back to its original beauty.
W.D. Suite
The W.D. Suite was named in honor of Aaron's maternal grandparents, William Dietrick, "W.D." and Edith Frye. They were best known for starting the 1/8 mile dragstrip back in the late 1960's. It is still in operation today. William also owned the fertilizer and seed depot here in Havana.
William was a hardworking man; Edith was a traditional farm wife. Their Home was simple yet elegant. They were both very friendly and always welcomed guests.
The Larson Suite
The Larson Suite was named in honor of Aaron's paternal grandparents David and Leota Larson. They are best known for being charter members of the Havana Church of Christ. They owned a Christmas tree farm and a melon stand where they grew and sold the first seedless watermelons.
Their table was always set to serve a farm fresh meal. The beds were always made and ready for guests to stay. If you stayed at their house, you were sure to drink a glass of cold, sweet tea and were expected to play a game of Skip-bo.
